Committee's Roles & Responsibilities

The Webmaster Chair is responsible for updating and upgrading our website.

Webmaster Chair Responsibilities:

• Make sure the website is up to date with the board's events, workshops, and membership information.
• Manage the G-Suite account for all of LIRID emails. 
• Work with the membership chair to update the membership directory.

The Professional Development chair is responsible for all workshops, and professional development that LIRID hosts. 

Professional Development Chair Responsibilities:

• Get insight from the membership on what kind of presenters and topics they would like professional development on.
• Compile a docuement of possible presenters, topics, and contact information.
• Organize and plan workshops, and professional development opportunities (logistics, advertising, registration, funds, etc.).

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for planning and overseeing the organizations fundraising. 

Fundraising Chair Responsibilities: 

• Work together with the board and membership to seek worthy fundraising causes.
• Local outreach to the Deaf and Interpreting community.
• Implement fundraisers to benefit the membership and local community at large. 

The Membership Committee maintains and records LIRID membership.

Membership Chair Responsibilities:

• Ensure that individuals who sign up for membership have paid by communicating with the Treasurer.
• Receive and track all membership applications.
• Engage in local outreach for membership renewal or to recruit new members.

The Mentorship Chair is responsible to provide both associate and certified members with mentorship opportunities. The committee aims to provide a safe environment for members to practice their craft and improve their interpreting skills. 

Mentorship Chair Responsibilities:

• Provide a forum for interpreters to share, discuss, and provide effective feedback on experiences in a constructive way.
