Who Are We?
LIRID is an affiliate chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc(RID). We are a membership driven, non-profit, professional organization of sign language interpreters who live and work on Long Island and surrounding areas to serve both the hearing and Deaf communities and function in accordance with the goals of RID Inc.
Mission Statement
LIRID's mission is to work together with the Deaf Community to meet the interpreting needs of Long Island residents by providing local forums, peer and professional support, and organizational structure for the continued development and growth for the profession.
